ARTWORK BY DEAN QUIGLEY

"This Very Old House"
This painting was done in 2003 and commissioned for the article "This Very Old House" by Catherine Dodd which appeared in American Archaeology, vol 8, no.1, (Spring, 2004), pp 26-31. The original is framed under glass with the illustration from the article in the lower half of the the frame. The frame with both pictures measures approximately 33" x 26." The article is about the exciting new Folsom site called the Mountaineer Site discovered by Western State College archaeologist Mark Stiger in southwestern Colorado. The site is exceptional in several ways, not the least in that remains of a 12,00 year old house structure of the Folsom people were discovered for the first time. Based on this archaeological evidence, Quigley's painting illustrates what this structure may have looked like. Price $1200.
